Alright, we've split the rules up into two sections; one for general board rules, and another for RPing/character rules. We admins have the right to change these rules without notice.
General Board Rules
1. Be respectful to everyone on the site. If there is a problem contact the admin, if the admin are the problem contact the head admin and if all else fails and admin are abusing your signed contract to proboards (Which I guarantee none of you read, read it)contact proboards.
2. If you want more than one character you need to make seperate accounts. You can make as manny accounts you want. Just keep them active like the rest of us.
3. Each person may RP one canon character, although they can have multiple custom characters.
4. No spamming, double posting, etc.
5. Do not post or send us a PM asking to be on the staff. Anyone who does this will not be considered for a staff position.
6. No excessive cursing. If you're the type of person who curses every other second in real life, get ahold of yourself and don't do it here.
7. Any announcement posted which states that there is a new rule for a specific forum (i.e. the rule about being an active member before posting in the affiliates forum) will be followed, even if said rule isn't added in here. It's still to be treated as though it were on this list.
8. No advertising in the cbox. Also, if you have a site of your own, kindly refrain from discussing it in our cbox. The cbox is for this site, kindly do your recruiting elsewhere. Also, don't PM members from this site, asking them to join your site. You'll be banned if you do this. There is an advertiseing board.
9. Any problems at all will not be taken care of in IC threads. They will be discussed in OOC areas like on the miscellaneous board, on the cbox, or through PM. If you cannot resolve your problems PM a staff member.
10. DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE STAFF. If you have a disagreement on something bring it up and talk it out, follow the first rule, and what this is basically saying is if you have discussed it (and the admin will hear your side out) and the admin makes a final decision that you dont like then move on, its life, not to be mean or anything but there is always things you wont like just follow the rules.
11. NO ARGUING IN THE CBOX! (This goes for admins as well.) It gets on everyones nerves, and is uncalled for in the Cbox, just like advertising. Discuss it in a PM, not in the Cbox.
12. Do not steal work from other proboards sites unless you get permission from the owner or their admin.
13. I am now concerned about Cyber-Bullying. I, Selene, have been cybered bullied a few times, by a previous board member, and he only caused shit to humor himself and friends. People, it's not a joking matter. it's very immature. If any of you are, or thinking that you are, pleaseee don't hesitate to contact Admin/Selene! I will settle maybe a compromise or probation with that person. I don't want people to feel sad and upset. And if you would like to go argue, go bitch out in the Pissed-Off room. That's what it's for right? More information about cyber-bullying, click here.
RP/Character Rules
1. No custom characters can be closely related to a cannon character (such as from movies or anime characters, unless they are listed in the Cannon Characters list) YOu could only if you had special permission from the Admin.
2. Wait for your character to be accepted before RPing.
3. Do not Godmodd
Passive Godmodding
Godmoding can occur when a character describes an event or a series of events he or she has taken against another character or interactive object, most often with the purpose of rescinding negative effects previously encountered or granting some other effect inconsistent with an innocent view of the narrative. Godmoding is thus often used like a "Get Out of Jail Free card" when things don't go the way a player wants, rather than working with previously unfolded events. It is also used to describe the act of creating or playing with an invincible character or unbreakable armor, limitless power, etc.
Active Godmodding
Godmoding can also refer to the case where a player definitively describes the outcome of their own actions against another character or interactive object. For example, if player A states, "A strikes B and B takes damage", they could be considered to be godmoding. Another example of this might be where a character is facing multiple enemies, and they redirect one foe's attack onto another. For example, Player A states, "B misses A completely, and strikes C instead."
Similarly, controlling characters that belong to someone else is also a form of godmoding.
* Player A: Character A punches Character B.
* Player B: Character B dodges the attack, grabs Character A and throws him out of a stained glass window. Character A flies at Character B, who warps behind him and slashes Character A in the back.
4. No perfect character or marysure characters. Everyone has to have a weakness of some sort. Balance is everything.
5. Use common sense. A human cannot take on a lycan in hand to hand combat and expect to win. If it were not the case, why would they need guns lol, even average vampire cannot match lycans in hand to hand combat(Just a example). And when we say use Common Sense, put them on your Application too. No made up weapons either, parents related to Selene, or even that you have magical powers. I am sure no one in real life can.
6. You cannot kill another players character unless they give you permission. This is a con traversal rule right here so let me explain, if there is no way that character can get out of what ever you did (Example: Vampire is hidden and aims at a humans head and fires....Unless there is someway that human knew he was there, that human is dead. If the character can get out of the situation alive though and chooses to then deal with it and continue.) Also, you don't need to ask permission by PM. It just makes things messed up. (hopes this all made sense)
7. You may post in multiple threads at a time, the threads must take place at different time periods in order for this to work--> (You cannot have your character fighting Blade april 1 and at the same time be at a meeting april 1. But this is common sense, different time periods work fine.)
8. Posts should be a minimal of 1 paragraph. 4-5 sentences is easy, describe you emotions, facial expression, thoughts, and what you might say describe how you siad it. Little things like that, its easy and not alot to ask for. But if you're totally bummed out, and can only write like two sentences... fine -_-;
9. If someone doesn't doesn't have a member group and posts somewhere out of the Out of Character area, Do not reply to their post. Report this to a Staff.
10. Spelling, Grammar, and effort put into presenting your posts (organization, did you try to make the minimal quota at least for the post, are you on topic and make sense with the situation and environment in your thread) will be looked upon often and if constant failure to live up to this is shown then you will be helped by staff to correct this bad habit and if not you will be punished. Now we welcome beginner RPers and will help you like stated if you have trouble with this and given the fact that you post to further the story in your thread, and spelling checks are provided and can be found in multiple sources this should not really be too hard with a bit of common sense.
These are the rules, if you do not like them then that is fine there are trillions of people online believe it or not, there would be something wrong if everyone agreed with these rules. If you don't like them then leave or don't join, don't waste our time or cause problems or you will be removed.
